v1.5 — What shipped
Orion v1.5 is now live on the App Store. Here is the official release note:
"This update brings UI improvements to the Write for Me feature, a smoother loading progress experience in the typing bar, faster text-to-speech performance, and bug fixes. It also adds soft safety guardrails with helpful tips without blocking the model's output."
Initiating development of V2
Today we are beginning development of Orion V2. V2 is centred around two major directions.
Orion Agent
We are adding agentic capabilities to Orion. The goal is for Orion to actively help speed up Orion's own development and quality — closing a loop between the tool we are building and the team building it. We plan to ship this as Orion Agent in the coming weeks.
Orion as an AI OS
We are also bringing CharacterAI-like capabilities into the product, so that the whole Orion app behaves like an AI operating system — a single, local, private surface for anything you need AI for. Every interaction, every task, every creative or analytical need: handled on-device, by Orion.
We believe Orion Agent will further accelerate our pace — and push us further into the singularity.
